Mamapreneur and Mama Power Founding Member Shannon Shearn is on a mission to make a healthy lifestyle available to everyone — especially busy moms.
By helping provide access to the tools and knowledge necessary to get and stay healthy, Shannon offers a holistic approach that doesn’t sacrifice mental health for physical health. With coaching and courses available through her company, Savage Wellness, Shannon helps busy moms reach their wellness goals and learn to prioritize their health and happiness amidst the chaos of motherhood.
Today on our “She’s Got #MamaPower” feature, Shannon shares more about how Savage Wellness began, how she hopes to build a community of supportive women, and the ways that Mama Power has helped her overcome business challenges.
What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your motherhood + business journey?
I have worked with hundreds of moms and am so proud to be able to say that I have honestly had real success with all of them, sometimes in ways they hadn't expected when they began their journey with me. My clients don't just lose weight and get strong, they develop a loving relationship with themselves and feel empowered to manage their healthy lifestyle on their own when they finish a program with me. Perhaps above all else, I am proud that the program I have developed over the past 3 years is doing exactly what I set out to do and it's helping moms everywhere not only realize that they can achieve their goals, but have fun and transform their relationship with food, exercise and themselves into one of love and celebration.
Where do you see yourself and your business three years from now?
I will have a series of wellness courses that will meet the needs of all moms in whatever phase they're in. I will have a team of wellness professionals with courses in all areas of mama wellness. I will have a live online class list and a team of trained "coaches" all over the world that can lead groups through my courses and into my membership community. These groups can also meet with their coaches and group members in person to track their physical transformation progress, share their stories, and workout together in person or in live small groups. Most importantly, I will have a huge community of inspired moms sharing with and celebrating each other.
How has being part of the Mama Power program helped you in your business?
Mama Power has been a huge part of me seeing my coaching business' ability to scale and to develop the confidence in myself as a business person, not just a coach, to make it happen in a real way. The women I have met have been a big inspiration and many I call friends. And the professionals who come and speak with us have given me a lot of valuable tools to keep moving my business forward.
What type of return have you seen on your investment with Mama Power?
Although not always tangible in terms of how to quantify a direct correlation, I feel comfortable saying that my investment has always at least tripled in terms of revenue. However, the value of added services have saved me so much on coaching and insight that I can easily say that number is much bigger!
What would you say to mom business owner who is considering the Mama Power community and/or working with The Mama Ladder?
There is nothing like this community out there! I have been a part of a lot of these types of business development outlets and this has by far consistently exceeded my expectations and provided a place where I have access to what I need and the support that helps me keep moving forward, even when it gets hard (which is often!)
