Sharon Costanzo is a life coach on a mission. A mission to make connections, share her experience, and bring more domestic bliss to the homes of families.
Today on our “She’s Got #MamaPower” feature, Sharon shares how her personal experience inspired her business, the way her work has transformed her relationships and inspired her to help other women, and what she’s gained as a member of Mama Power.
What does your business offer the world?
I'm a life coach. I work with moms who: want to feel more cared for and supported by their spouse/partner, struggle to set boundaries that allow them to get the proper care they need, want to stop spending all their time doing everything for everyone and start saving some time and energy for projects and priorities that make them feel satisfied and whole, and are ready to stop making excuses and start creating a lifestyle that works for them and their family – their version of Domestic Bliss!
What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your motherhood + business journey?
Three-ish years ago when I realized that I wanted to be a working mom more than I wanted to be a full-time SAHM my husband was very resistant. He didn't think I could be as good of a mom if I had a career. We had A LOT of conflict in our marriage about gender roles and expectations. At one point, I didn't think that our marriage would survive our differing expectations. I learned so much in the process of setting boundaries and owning my needs.
Now, I work full time and run my coaching business on the side. I plan to go full-time in my coaching business by the end of 2020. My husband does so much at home and with the kids to support our family so that I can pursue this dream. It's like we are in a completely different relationship than the one we used to have. I love showing women that it is absolutely possible to change the gender expectations in their marriage and inspire their spouses to support their ambitious goals.
Where do you see yourself and your business three years from now?
I dream of being a full-time coach with a waiting list for my 1:1 services. I love to run group programs and plan to have a year-long group program that inspires women to create a lifestyle they love. And ultimately, I plan to make at least as much money as I did when I worked full-time as an engineer. I would love to see my husband feel free to pursue any career interest he has because he doesn't feel the pressure of being the primary breadwinner.
How has being part of the Mama Power program helped you in your business?
Making connections with other moms who have big plans is priceless to me. As a recovering perfectionist, I can really get in my own way and the women in Mama Power help bring me back to reality and move forward in my imperfection.
What type of return have you seen on your investment with Mama Power?
Mama Power has given me an opportunity to collaborate with and be inspired by so many amazing women. Sometimes as business owners we might think that sharing our ideas can reduce our competitive edge, but I think it's the exact opposite! We amplify and lift one another to levels we couldn't reach alone.
