If you’re a parent, Alyson Peterson is making teaching your kids a whole lot more fun. Igniting creativity through her business, The Winkle, Alyson creates DIY-style STEM subscription boxes with video instructions that help kids learn in engaging ways.
Today on our “She’s Got #MamaPower” feature, Alyson shares how she involves her family in her business, the dreams she has for The Winkle, and what she’s gained as a member of Mama Power.
What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your motherhood and business journey?
Being a mom owned business is ideal for The Winkle because I have my own little product testers right at home. The whole family breathes Winkle. We are always talking about ideas that could be a Winkle project. My kids love seeing me passionate about this. I think me fulfilling my dreams sets a great foundation for them.
Where do you see yourself and your business three years from now?
Oh I have very big aspirations for The Winkle — it's what keeps me going! My goal is to be a household name, something everyone has heard about. I want to see Winkle projects in after school clubs, homeschool groups, and schools. There is so much potential here.
How has being part of the Mama Power program helped you in your business?
I look forward to getting my fix every Thursday in the Mama Power hour. I love sharing ideas, being inspired, and getting feedback on problems or ideas. Having a community is essential, especially being a momprenuer. I honestly don't know what I'd do without my Mama Group. I consider these mamas some of my dearest friends and supporters.
What type of return have you seen on your investment with Mama Power?
I don't think I would have even thought to market to schools, hospitals, and clubs if it weren't for Mama Power. The potential ROI for that is exponential growth.
What would you say to mom business owner who is considering the Mama Power community and/or working with The Mama Ladder?
If you want friends and cheerleaders that understand what you are going through and will support you on your journey, then Mama Power is for you.
